The staff were amazing and so helpful throughout the stay, they couldn’t do enough for you. Was so good that you could use the leisure facilities like the swimming pool hydro pool sauna steam room that’s a bonus and they provided towels and lockers there. Restaurant was lovely. Lovely bar. Room was so cosy, modern, comfy, and clean. The spa what we paid extra for was amazing and the massage unreal. Staff over at the spa was amazing and friendly too. You get towels, robes, flip flops, and a bag at the spa.

The Lion at Malpas is located in Malpas which is a 15 minute drive from the nearest main town of Whitchurch. The rooms are located adjacent to the main restaurant/bar area which offers a much quieter surrounding. All of the garden areas are beautifully kept and maintained which only adds to the whole experience.
Our room was spacious and well designed with plenty of wardrobe/storage space, large comfortable bed and decent bathroom with both bath & shower. I would highly recommend The Lion at Malpas to any one either passing through or looking for a longer stay in an idyllic setting. The staff are very welcoming and keen to assist at all times making our stay even more pleasurable. A big thank you to Lisa (assistant manager) who helped us overcome a minor issue with our booking - what a star !!!

The reception on our late arrival, the rapid arrangements for dinner, excellent menu and choices of wine and beer, excellent room and assistance with luggage in very poor weather. Very popular and therefore parking (on Saturday night) could not be reserved and was not straightforward. Malpas is on a busy narrow high.street.

A beautiful house in a country setting.
A beautiful house in a country setting. I had a very large bedroom with lovely views over the grounds including a lake. Spotlessly clean and we felt all covid rules were followed implicitly. Would highly recommend

We loved the Lion at Malpas! We were looking for a "pub with rooms" experience, and got that, and much more! Both the pub and our room were so stylishly decorated and comfortable. The food was delicious too. Everyone was so nice and helpful, particularly Kane who checked us in and showed us to our family room. The bathroom in our room was fab, with double doors and a freestanding bath for full dramatic effect.
From the 1st contact to arriving Sally Anne was great even though this is a working farm and the cottage is in the middle we never felt over looked .it was lovely and warm on arrival and has everything you need to go away some great dog walks in the area .We went to The Lion in Malpas on xmas eve for lunch the food was amazing very friendly staff and great service. Would definitely recommend .
It was quite peaceful so we were able to relax.
Also, The Mission Room was a good base for days out visiting various other places. Malpas Village was nice and had some lovely places to eat out, and there's a delicatessen and gift shop. Altogether lovely.
the location of the hotel was an ideal location to a nearby wedding venue that we attended. beautiful facilities such as the outdoor seating area, pub/bar area and the hotel cottage style rooms were cozy and had all amenities that we needed for the night.
We did not have breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Large comfortable room with windows on three sides, quiet, peaceful. Lovely location, not very far from Malpas which is an interesting friendly village.
The hostess was very kind and considerate.
The location is very good if you want to drive around the Cheshire countryside and you are three mile away from one of the finest country pubs with excellent food , the Cholmondeley Inn. Very nice host and well made English breakfast.
Beautiful cottage, spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. The extra breakfast package was excellent quality and value for money. Set in beautiful countryside, handy for Chester and nearby Malpas
Lovely warm & cosy feel to the hotel, beautifully decorated & very well set out. Staff worked very hard & were happy to help out with any requirements.
