My favorite city.
My favorite city. Hong Kong may be a bit daunting for less confident travelers. It's very hustle & bustle, and navigation isn't always intuitive. But, it's still very safe & accomodating for foreigners. Almost everything is accessible even without being fluent in Chinese. And you'll have no problem accessing transportation. There's so much to explore & unlimited options for good food across all price ranges.
Don't miss the Avenue of Stars, Ladies' Market, Central Mid-Levels, Stanley, the Star Ferry, HK Island Tramways.

My former memories of Hong Kong include:
-cheap shopping.
-cheap food.
-great sights.
Today's reality:
-shopping is cheaper in other countries
-food prices seem much higher now
-sights are still great: Disneyland, Ngong Ping 360, Victoria Peak, etc
-city seems to be always changing which is a great thing.

It was a mixed business and leisure trip, so I tended to look for places to eat nearby. It's easy to find good food just anywhere. I wasn't able to visit the Peak or Ngong Ping 360 this time, but those are some of my favorites to go to when in HK.
Getting around HK is a breeze, the MTR stations are well laid out and easy to figure out.
I would avoid Taxis and prefer Uber instead, as the taxi drivers tend to drive pretty fast and you find yourself sliding left and right on the back seat. Also, the smell of the taxis isn't always pleasant.

I AM FROM HONGKONG....
I AM FROM HONGKONG....& IF ONE TRAVEL TO SUBURBS WITH LIGHT RAIL.ONE WILL SEE NO GOVT. IN ANY CITY WOULD PROVIDE AS MUCH FOR THE CITIZENS AS H.K........AS THER ARE GREAT TRANSPORT SYSTEM, ROOM/SPACES FOR KIDS TO PLAY, SENIORS TO CHILL OUT, PUBLIC TOILETS ( CLEANER THAN ALOT OF HOTEL TOILETS OVERSEA) EVERY 2 KM....MEAL/FOOD THAT IS GREAT COMPARE $ FOR $..EXCEPT CAKES WHICH ARE NICE BUT WAY TOO EXPENSIVE........AH OF COURSE FOR SENIORS....OCEAN PARK IS FREE & DISNEYLAND ONLYH.K$100.00.....ALTHOUGH I FOUND A FEW WOMEN CITIZENS TOO SENSITIVE WHEN BEING HELPED TO BOARD A BUS...& FAR TOO MANY SMART PHONE USERS * ( SELFISH PEOPLE) EYES ONLY ON PHONE WHILE WALKING/BOARDING MTR, ESCALATORS.ETC.
I loved my stay at the hotel. The staff are amazing. Andy at the front desk is wonderful. And also the staff at the concierge desk. So friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect. 1 step away from the MTR. A walk away from Victoria Park and Causeway Bay. Very safe area. The room was perfect for me. Clean. Spacious. There was a Coffee and Tea maker. I checked out after 2 nights to sleep in their sister hotel in Kowloon but after 1 night decided that I predered the HK side. I came back to the hotel and they suprised me with a suite.
The location is simply the best in Hong Kong even when compared to hotels in the 200USD range. You walk 5 minutes to the avenue of stars and about the same to reach Kowloon park. The hostel has a nice public area and offers amenities like a water filter and a microwave. Everything is relatively tight but that’s totally normal for HK, especially in this price range. You are 2 minutes away from the next metro stations and there are plenty of restaurants and shops around.
It's great value. The hotel was clean and comfy, even though the rooms themselves were small (but that's pretty standard all over Hong Kong).
The location isn't as bad as we thought, as there was a bus that gets you down to Central within 25min. The buses are generally on time, and they come every 15 min or so, so it was pretty easy. The area itself didn't have too much to do, but the boat houses nearby was a cool thing to check out while we were here.
The location was superb for us, situated on Nathan road and within such a short walking distance to the Star Ferry to cross over to Hong Kong Island. Close to the water and perfect for watching the evening light show. The central location made it very easy to get about Kowloon and many restaurants and great shopping in the immediate vicinity.
Hotel staff super helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
Room: The room at Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West dazzled with its elegant decor, panoramic city views through floor-to-ceiling windows, and a luxuriously comfortable bed, making it a serene urban retreat.
Location: Perfectly situated near Tsuen Wan West MTR station, Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West offers convenient access to Hong Kong's attractions, shopping, and dining, encapsulating the vibrant essence of the city.
Surrounding environment is very nice! A large garden area in front of the hotel, make me feel very relax, the gym is very nice. Very convenient for food & shopping for necessities. A big supermarket & restaurants in just a few minutes, the light rail in front of the hotel, easy to get around Tuen Mum areas & it takes 3 light rail stops to access the west Kowloon train to go to the city, but not bad still👍👍
Location is perfect for public transport and especially subway with Mongkok station. At the same time, the hotel is located in a very lively area of Kowloon that remains the heart biting of Hong Kong residents. The facilities of the hotel are excellent and the staff is continuously providing attentive care to the guests. Always a pleasure to stay there and never disappoint over the last 10 years.
The hotel’s location is great. A few steps from Nathan road, the main artery of Kowloon. This means thay bus stops and mtr stops are also nearby.
The room was clean and spacious, and the linens/pillows were soft and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and it doesnt take long for the water heater to work.
Receptionista were professional and courteous. All in all it was a great stay.
The hotel is in a good location, short walk to the train station, and it's pretty easy to go to Central or Kowloon from the hostel.
There's loads of nearby restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores.
I found this pretty good value for money (but I guess prices fluctuate) and considering this is Hong Kong, I had a fairly large room that was clean!
Fabulous location just off Nathan Road and very close to Temple Street night market. Walking distance to the metro Jordan Rd also only less than 10 minutes in a taxi to Kowloon high speed train station. The hotel is new, rooms are very comfortable and the staff very helpful. Great value for money compared to other Hong Kong hotels.
I recently stayed at this hotel and found its location to be extremely convenient. It's just a short 7-minute walk to Causeway Bay MTR and about 10 minutes to Wan Chai MRT, Time Square, and Harbour City. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, providing excellent assistance throughout my stay.
Location. Although not the best in Kowloon, location of this hotel in one complex with a shopping mall and metro station makes it so easy for a tourist to move around the city and even do grocery shopping because there is no room service in the hotel.
Housekeeping service was excellent. Overall staff service was good. The location of the hotel is great, in between both Wan Chai and Exhibition Centre MTR stations and within walking distance of the ferry terminal to Tsim Sha Tsui.
The hotel is quite new. Room was clean and comfortable. For this price, it is quite roomy in Hong Kong. The cleaning lady was very polite and friendly. I forgot my headphone when I checked out and they found it.
Great location near to lots of attractions and transport connections. Good size rooms with comfortable beds. Helpful and friendly staff. Good value for money especially in central Hong Kong.
location is quiet enough yet close to hussle and bussle, Wan Chai (MTR&Ferry), Admiralty (MTR), Central (MTR&Ferry) all within 10-15mins walk. Next to Hong Kong Arts Centre (bonus).
This is an attempt at an art deco boutique hotel by the Hong Kong Gov't. I appreciate their efforts to do something creative and it is a cute hotel. It's pretty cheap, too.
A great location in Kowloon. Well situated to explore the city.
Good service, spacious rooms.
Access & discounts to partner hotel facilities (Marco Polo, Prince)
Room was perfect, it was clean, very big and cozy. Great staff and hotel facilities, probably one of the best locations to stay in Hong Kong, with a great view.
