The hotel was a lovely boutique hotel, the suite we had was a wonderful, high beamed ceiling room with great views. There isn't a restaurant but they will provide snacks along the lines of bitterballen, tempura prawns, houmous etc, so sufficient if you're not looking for an evening out. There is a restaurant, "Bij Isabella" which is a 2 minute walk and well worth a visit - simple food cooked really well. The hotel is within the Fort Isabella complex which is lovely and spacious and offers short walks in the evening. Also you can walk through the woods to see Camp Vught, a reconstruction of the Nazi concentration camp that used to be there - although a reconstruction, the audio guides tell a very moving story of what happened there - somebody told me it was a must visit for everyone and they were not wrong. Can also walk into Den Bosch (about 30 minutes) which we really enjoyed. Will hopefully revisit one day as 2 nights proved insufficient. By the way, the Hieronimus Bosch museum in Den Bosch was outstanding if you happen to like weird art like I do!

I must mention a special shout out to Sanne – however much you pay this young lady you need to increase it before she decides her talents are underated by her employer. There were staff issues the night I stayed…Sanne checked me in, she showed me my room and how the tv worked, when I went downstairs she served me at the bar, she took my food order and SHE cooked it. I then watched her prepare the breakfast area all on her own…whilst answering the numerous phone calls, checking in more guests and preparing and serving more meals. Guess who served me my breakfast….yep. Sanne is a keeper…
