Hotel Búðir is a must stay if staying over on the peninsula. We stayed for one night and it was a perfect stop after a long day. They have a happy hour in the lounge from 1600-1800 hours. Pleasant and helpful staff. Just do it!

This is a hidden gem - I would come back to the Snafellsness peninsula just to stay in this hotel again. The view all around is breathtaking - you have it all - the glacier, the magnificent mountains and a waterfall, lava fields and the black rocky beaches hidden behind pink sand dunes. Do not miss the hike behind the hotel and do it before 10am to have a complete solitude from tourists. Restauarnt and bar are top notch.
Super location with incredible views in all directions. This was our first night in Iceland. Bar and restaurant were great and dinner was very nice. Staff was very engaging. Peter our waiter kept us laughing and made for a great evening. The northern lights were present that night and we literally just walked a few hundred yards from the Hotel to view them. Room was a bit warm and as we've learned during the rest of our trip we now turn off all the heat when we arrive. We like to sleep in colder temps.
Lovely cosy hotel with a gorgeous drive to get there. Surrounded by water and mountains with a nice walk down to the beach, past the church if you want to. Amazing sunrise in the morning. Room was nice and spacious, the building is quite dated but it adds to the charm plus I could see they are doing renovations. Nice couches and cosy corners near the bar to cuddle up and read or chat over a glass of wine. Dinner was lovely and breakfast had a nice spread.
Unsurpassed, simply stunning location - I'll never forget walking out the hotel door after dinner at 11pm and going for a two hour walk along one of the paths next to the property. Our room was newly built - loved that we had a little sitting area with big screen TV and lots of amenities. Beautifully designed - everything from faucets to linens. The restaurant was also first rate.
Overall the visit was good. The location overall is magical and we have come to visit this place over the past 5 years. Typically when we come to visit we hike the area, have a drink in the back lobby with the beautiful view.
This time around we decided to stay at the hotel. The staff was super helpful and friendly and the dinner was wonderful.
Absolutely Fantastic . The best hotel in our stay in Iceland. The natural scenery around the hotel is breathtaking.
The food from the restaurant is amazing !
You can leave the hotel and walk near the ocean in various beautiful trails .
We had a great night sleep !
The famous black church is just a few steps away from the hotel.
Wow - what a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The hotel is gorgeously decorated in a magnificent setting. It is like a Wes Anderson dream hotel. There are no other buildings nearby (apart from the dainty and scenic black church), so the hotel has a reclusive and elegant grandeur about it. Breakfast was terrific.
Absolutely loved the remote location for a real relaxing experience. There are seals that travel up the stream next to the hotel once the tide comes in. Every window within the property has the most breathtaking views of the surrounding. Also the perfect place to see the northern lights.
It is a very unique place and hotel. There is nothing similar I have seen before. It is expensive but worth the money. I would definitely come back just to enjoy the views from the lobby and drink coffee or nice whiskey. Breakfast was also great.
- The restaurant was amazing. Best dinner we had in Iceland
- ocean side of the hotel was beautiful- great scenery and very cozy
- the furnishings and overall experience epitomized hygge
- great value
this was a gorgeous hotel with friendly helpful staff, a wonderful restaurant, and next to one of the most beautiful areas including the well know Black Church
