Easy check in, nice large car park. Room was spacious for two people. Bathroom was newer than photos indicated which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast included is always a bonus and there was adequate options for the stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. Steam sauna works as expected. Additional information for future guests - dinner is NOT included. I say this as I noticed recent reviews mentioning this and wanted to clarify for future travellers.

A comfortable living area and sauna provided space and amenity away from a cell-like twin room. Other guests were very helpful.

Perfect location surrounded by nature and away from the city, there are snowshoes and skis that can be used for free. Some activities, such as snowmobiles, have the starting point at the same hotel, since they share an adventure agency.

Highly recommend some of the activities they offer.

Spacious home, well-equipped facilities in a quiet little neighbourhood. Made me realise how much I needed heated bathroom floors in my own home.

They are moving the city so the old city looks like a ghost town. There is almost nothing to do and you don't see people on the street. Lots of accumulated snow and many fenced areas. The new city is not well established. It looks like a construction site and has few restaurant options. I didn't find any souvenir shops open to buy gifts. The center closes at 3pm and there is nothing to do in the city. I recommend taking trips outside the city, such as sledding, snowmobiling, and not wasting time in the city center until the move is completely completed.

A super cute small town in the middle of the Swedish arctic.
A super cute small town in the middle of the Swedish arctic. Make sure to book your tours in advance as there is not too much to do in Kiruna itself. Walking through the city and the surrounding nature is absolutely gorgeous in winter. Take care that the Buses needed to go to different places are very unreliable and don't run on weekends or holidays (especially the ones going to ICE hotel and jukkasväri). Not many restaurant options and many were closed when I was there (Christmas time) or closed early.

I wouldn't spend more than 4 days in Kiruna, and make sure you book lightsofvikings.com for northern lights hunting, they do everything professionally, you wouldn't regret it. We saw aurora borealis. And dog sledding. Ice hotel is a must visit! really like how they do it, and about 10-15 minutes walk you can see reindeer farm! And we don't like the old city, because they move the city to the new city, giving us the impression like in the walking dead movie, no one there, so quiet and no life, especially in winter.

We enjoyed all the activities we had in the beautiful landscapes of Kiruna, from dogsledding, to northern lights hunt, to snowmobile, to visiting a Saami village and reindeers. We highly recommend this place, preferably staying outside of the center that feels closer to nature.

Kiruna is a nice city, quite, clean, the land is beutifull.
Kiruna is a nice city, quite, clean, the land is beutifull. The visitor center in the mine has to be visited and Abysko National Park. In winter snowmobile has to be tried. Their is nice panaroma about the city from a mountine where seat lift or car takes on.

That was a real winter vacation with a lot of snow and cold.
That was a real winter vacation with a lot of snow and cold. I can’t say that I would want to live there permanently but just for a visit it was a great experience. We had a lot of fun with activities like Husky-tour, Northern-light tour, visiting Ice-hotel…
The room was clean and comfortable. Location of the hotel is perfect and in walking distance of the midnight sun trail and the city center itself. Note that the city is moving so the location of the hotel will probably change in the future.
Staff were friendly but not very social. However, I found this to be common for this region in Sweden. People just keep to themselves.
Breakfast was basic but has everything you need.
Ambiance of the pub downstairs was very nice and cosy.
The best spot to see Auroras. No need to hunt them. On our 1 night stay we witnessed the night sky turned into vast array of Northern Lights! The cabin is clean, there’s a floating sauna, and they offer winter activities.
Lizel, the receptionist was also friendly and accommodating. She made extra mile to give us tips where to take photos and videos for the Auroras. She also taught us how to use the Aurora app.
We highly recommend this place in Kiruna.
The location was excellent, a short walk across the frozen lake from the ice hotel with our luggage to reception where the young lady advised us about accommodation, local walks etc. The chalets were compact but had everything you needed. Very comfortable beds, wet room was warm, sitting area cozy, microwave and 2 hot rings (no oven facility), the view was spectacular. All in all a beautiful location with a chalet that met all our needs.
Check in went very well, staff was so kind. Also, the other people in the room were very friendly and courteous of others.
The breakfast surpassed in quality what you'd expect from any full-price hotel. Especially the fresh bread is amazing. I'd stay at this hostel just for the breakfast.
There is also parking and the location is walking distance from the city center.
Property staff are great! I had several interactions with them via e-mail before arrival, and they were very quick to respond and addressed all my concerns. The property itself is wonderful. It's located a little bit outside Kiruna by a late, in a picturesque location. We had a fabulous stay!
The owners were WONDERFUL! They were most helpful and kind! They offered assistance and tips above and beyond what I expected or needed for my stay at their hotel. They also have a very informative and interesting museum at the hotel.
The restaurant in the hotel was excellent. Make sure you don't miss it while there. The location is also great and I think it is the perfect stay if you are just staying for a day or two to do aurora spotting and visiting Ice hotel.
Location was great. The bus from/to the airport has a stop very close to the hotel. There's a nice little bar inside the hotel. Breakfast was good; a bit small, though, so it got crowded at times but not too bad.
The hotel and the location is really nice. You can just walk out a few meters and find a nice spot to see the auroras (if conditions are met)
The cabins are really nice and cozy
The breakfast is also really good.
A small, quaint Sami-run hotel in a quiet corner of Kiruna. Good wifi, a decent-sized room, comfy if rather narrow beds, on-site parking and a good breakfast at a reasonable price.
The room, restaurant and facilities were clean. Lunch was good, and even when it was not included, we were happy to have the option to buy it at the hotel. Rooms were warm.
Our first 3 nights in Kiruna were at Northern Light Camp. The large windows in the facility were great! It was cozy and clean. Northern lights were great!
